Mahalaya Pitru Paksha Annadan Seva at Arunachalam
In the holy month of Bhadrapada, during Mahalaya Pitru Paksha 2025, Satguru Charitable Trust is organizing a grand Annadan Seva at their Ashram on the sacred Arunachala Mountain in Tiruvannamalai.
From 7th September (Purnima) to 21st September (Mahalaya Amavasya), freshly cooked meals will be lovingly served every day to 5000 Sadhus, Sadhakas, and Devotees. On Mahalaya Amavasya, the most significant day of this fortnight, nearly 20,000 people are expected to partake in this sacred Annadan.
Daily Menu At Annadan:
Rice, Sambar, Rasam, Buttermilk, Two Curries, Vada, and Payasam
This wholesome and nutritious meal will nourish thousands of hungry souls who gather at Arunachala during this sacred fortnight.
Spiritual Significance of Annadan in Pitru Paksha
Pitru Paksha is the divine fortnight dedicated to remembering and offering gratitude to our forefathers. Scriptures declare that Annadan (donation of food) is the highest form of charity, and when performed during Pitru Paksha, it becomes even more powerful.
Thus, every morsel served becomes a sacred offering to the Pitrus and to Lord Shiva Himself, who resides as Arunachaleshwara.
