Bring Back the Blessings of Varalakshmi Vratam to Our Villages

Support Samuhika Puja for 1300+ Underprivileged Women on Shravana Shukravar (15th August 2025)

The sacred month of Shravan (Sawan) is a time of deep devotion, fasting, and blessings in every Sanatana Dharma household. Fridays during this month are considered most auspicious for invoking the grace of Goddess Mahalakshmi through the Varalakshmi Vratam, a powerful and time-honored ritual performed by women seeking the well-being of their families, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment.

But today, in many poor and rural regions, this beautiful tradition is slowly disappearing.

Due to financial hardship and lack of access to temples, thousands of women from underprivileged communities are unable to observe the Varalakshmi Vratam. The rising cost of puja items, dakshina, and temple arrangements has turned what was once a deeply personal and joyful celebration into an unaffordable ritual. Slowly, these communities are getting distanced not just from one festival—but from our shared cultural and Dharmic identity.

This Shravan, let us change that.

The Revival Effort by Veda Sankalpa & Daanadharma Trust

To bring back the light of Dharma into these forgotten corners, Veda Sankalpa, in collaboration with Daanadharma Charitable Trust, is launching a powerful and inclusive initiative: Samuhika Varalakshmi Vratam for 1300+ underprivileged women across multiple temple towns and villages in Andhra Pradesh.

This mass-scale sacred observance will take place in local temples and community halls across several districts. It is not just a puja—it is a cultural restoration movement.

Each participating woman will be offered:

  • A complete Varalakshmi Vratam puja kit
  • Traditional Vayanam offerings
  • Tamboolam and Dakshina
  • Access to a clean, decorated temple space to participate in the sacred ritual with dignity and devotion
  • Guidance from trained purohits to help them perform the Vratam with proper mantras and tradition.

The cost of each puja kit and arrangement is ₹1500 per woman.

The total cost to conduct these Samuhika Vratams for 1300+ women, including logistics, temple decorations, and organizing purohits, is around ₹15,00,000

Why This Support Matters

  • You are not just donating a puja kit, you are helping restore the pride and spiritual connection of a woman who was about to forget her roots.
  • You are reviving a generational practice that strengthens family, community, and Dharma.
  • You are giving an opportunity to women who feel left behind, to stand in a temple with confidence, perform a sacred ritual, and receive blessings from Mahalakshmi herself.
